'One of the most talented I've seen' – Pep raves about City new boy

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has singled out one of his summer signings for praise ahead of the team's Champions League fixture against La Liga side Villarreal on Tuesday night.

Guardiola told reporters: "Rayan is one of the most talented players I have ever seen in my career declared. His talent… he is top. The question is how he settles and how he needs to read actions. He started well at the Club World Cup but then had a few weeks off. I have the feeling most of the time when the ball comes to him, the situation is better. But not all the time you have to do exceptional things - just play football. He has something. The pass for Erling [Haaland] in the last moments [against Everton], he can do it. He is a player who doesn't feel pressure. He is like a street player. He wants the ball when he doesn't have it. But he is here a short time - he needs a little bit of time because in football you learn to play with your mates. But these types of players are intelligent. They see everything."

Fulham take action in bid to secure Silva’s long-term future

Marco Silva joined Fulham in 2021 and guided the team to the Championship title in his first season in charge. The Portuguese has since gone on to consolidate Fulham's position back in the Premier League and set a new club record last season by claiming 54 points in the English top flight. The Cottagers are now eager to hand Silva a new contract but renewal talks between both parties are yet to take place, according to The Athletic.

Rangers finally appoint Rohl as new head coach

Danny Rohl has at last been confirmed as the new manager of Scottish Premiership side Rangers. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss, who had previously ruled himself out of the running, has succeeded Russell Martin in the hotseat in Glasgow. Rohl will take charge of Rangers for the first time on Thursday night when they take on SK Brann in the Europa League.

Reynolds & Mac to spend again? January transfer prediction

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are being tipped to spend again at Wrexham, with Tony Pulis making a January transfer prediction.

Pulis told Grosvenor Sport: “I think if Phil Parkinson was given the opportunity and the chance to bring two or three better players in, or players with more experience and that little bit of quality that you need, he will. Wrexham are a very organised, hardworking team. But the further you go up the levels, you need that little bit of quality. You need that little bit of difference in both boxes as much as anything else. You need someone who's going to score you a goal when it's a tight game for you to win the game, or you've got a goalkeeper who makes a fabulous save that saves you the points that you had in the bag anyway."

Klopp addresses Liverpool’s £450m spend after City complaints

Jurgen Klopp has, having previously criticised the spending power of Manchester City, addressed Liverpool’s elaborate recruitment drive in the summer of 2025 that saw them smash records while splashing out £450 million ($603m).

Klopp said: "Oh, you won’t like the answer. You will not like the answer, and you all have the answer already. Nobody can compete with City in that. You have the best team in the world and you put in the best striker on the market [Erling Haaland]. No matter what it costs, you just do it. I know City will not like it, nobody will like it, you’ve asked the question but you know the answer. What does Liverpool do? We cannot act like them. It is not possible. Not possible. It is just clear and again you know the answer. There are three clubs in world football who can do what they want financially. It’s legal and everything, fine, but they can do what they want. They will say: ‘Yeah but we have...’ but it’s exactly the fact. We have to look at it [and say]: ‘We need that and we need that and we have to look here and make it younger, and here a prospect and here a talent’ and that is what you have to do. And you compete with them."

Amorim told Lammens could be the best in the world

Manchester United's deadline signing Senne Lammens could become the best goalkeeper in the world, according to his former coach at Club Brugge, Hayk Milkon.

Milton told Manchester Evening News: "I was not surprised when I saw Manchester United had come calling. And to record his first clean sheet, I was really happy for him. Senne is a potential No.1 for the Red Devils [and] the Belgium national team. He got his chance, he took it, and we’re all really proud of him, but we knew it would happen. “I believe he has all the capabilities to become the best in the world, so I wish him all the best. I’m sure he will have a very good career in England, and Manchester United should return to the big club they used to be. He will have a positive impact on that, for sure."

Atlanta dismiss coach Ronny Deila after missing playoffs

Atlanta United fired head coach Ronny Deila after just one season, the team announced on Sunday. The 2021 MLS Cup-winning coach led the Eastern Conference side to a 5-16-13 record and 14th-place finish in his first season in charge. Atlanta were expected to be among the favorites for MLS Cup, but won only one of their final 18 games.

The official statement from club CEO and President Garth Lagerwey read: "It was evident that our standard of play was not met this season, and together with our senior leadership team, we have decided that it was in Atlanta United’s best interest to move the team in a different direction. Ultimately, we owe our fans a much better on-field product and it is our unwavering commitment to provide that to this community as soon as possible. We want to thank Ronny for his time and commitment to the organisation and wish him well in his future endeavours."

Endrick's stance on potential move to Marseille revealed

Real Madrid outcast Endrick has made up his mind on a potential move to Marseille, which could see the Brazilian youngster link up with Mason Greenwood in France in the January transfer window.

Endrick has struggled for game time at Santiago Bernabeu ever since he made his debut in 2024, which raised questions about his long-term future with the club. Amid speculations, L’Equipe reports that Ligue 1 giants Marseille are keen on signing the striker in the January transfer window. Marseille initially wanted to sign the Brazilian youngster in the summer window and are set to reignite their interest when the market reopens. Roberto De Zerbi is desperately looking to sign a new attacking option once the transfer window reopens, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Amine Gouiri will leave for international duty at the AFCON.

X-rated response to shock Neymar transfer rumour

Neymar is seeing his contract run down at Santos, meaning that another new challenge early in 2026 is being speculated on. With next summer's World Cup to think about, and Brazil hoping to secure a first global crown since 2002, Neymar is seeing a return to European football discussed. Italian giants Inter have, however, distanced themselves from the Samba superstar.

Inter Sporting director Piero Ausilio told Corriere dello Sport when asked if there is any substance to the speculation suggesting that a Brazilian icon could soon make his way to San Siro: "Neymar? Come on, that's bullsh*t. Never contacted, never offered - it's nonsense."

Messi in advanced talks to sign new Inter Miami

After finishing the regular MLS with 48 goal involvements, Lionel Messi is now closing on signing a new contract extension at Inter Miami, according to Fabrizio Romano. The final details of the deal are being sorted at the moment as the Argentina legend is expected to sign the dotted lines soon.

Liverpool working on two new contracts

Liverpool are still looking to agree new contracts with defenders Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson, Football Insider reports. Both players are on course to become free agents at the end of this season and could feasibly sign pre-contract agreements with overseas clubs from January 1. Konate has been linked with Real Madrid for months, while city rivals Atletico are thought to be tracking Robertson.

Chelsea 'considering' prolific BlueCo striker move

According to Fichajes in Spain, Chelsea are ‘considering’ an approach for Strasbourg frontman Joaquin Panichelli. Were it to happen, the 23-year-old Argentine would become the latest player to move between the clubs, who share a common owner in Todd Boehly’s BlueCo.

Towering Panichelli only joined Strasbourg in the summer, moving from Alaves after a 20-goal season in Spain’s second tier with Mirandes. But he’s hit the ground running in Ligue 1, scoring seven times in Strasbourg’s first eight games of the season.

Chelsea have lacked a prolific centre forward since Diego Costa a decade ago, and frustratingly quickly lost new signing Liam Delap to injury almost straightaway.

Ex-Liverpool youngster reveals golf course phone call from Alonso

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton opened up on the shock phone call he received from current Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso, while being on a golf course.

Speaking to Sport Bible in an exclusive interview, Morton revealed that growing up, he used to idolise Spain legend Xabi Alonso, who spent five years at Anfield before heading to Real Madrid in 2009. Morton said: "I loved Xabi Alonso so I tried to copy him. He was different from everyone else."

The youngster then also revealed the story where he received a shocking phone call from his idol last summer. He said: "It’s a funny story. I was on a golf course with my mates at the time. I got a text from my agent, who said: 'Xabi Alonso’s going to call you soon'. I’d heard about the move but didn’t speak about it too much because I’d been told I wasn’t leaving Liverpool. I’d just hit a nice drive and was on for my first par of the day. I had to bin it off, but it was definitely worth it! He (Alonso) told me how highly he rates me as a player. They wanted to sign me."
